A unique new virtual playground to reunite local bar and entertainment industries with the public

Malaysians are set for a unique drinking experience as Bar-United enables consumers to enjoy and support their local watering holes from the comforts of their own home. Championed by Chivas Regal Malaysia, Bar-United collaborates with local bars across the Klang Valley to reignite the community and rekindle the connections we have missed over the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

As Malaysians adjust to new daily routines, there is still some hesitancy towards being out of the house for extended periods of time. However, many of us miss the familiarity and camaraderie we find at our favourite outlets, from ordering our favourite drinks, to catching up with the friendly bartenders, and even meeting new friends. Bar-United was conceptualised to replicate these experiences on a virtual platform to be accessed wherever you are.

Built on Chivas’ belief that “Blended is Better” in life and in Scotch, the platform also encourages the support of the local F&B and Entertainment industries by collaborating with local bars and talents to create a blend of experiences for the public, whilst helping the industry weather through the current climate.

With the pandemic affecting many industries across the globe, we created this initiative to support our partners from the Food & Beverage and Entertainment industries by giving them a platform to be able to do what they do best despite the circumstances,” said Sébastien Mouquet, Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Malaysia & Thailand.

Bar-United is an interactive virtual playground that integrates a variety of functions such as social networking, online shopping and deliveries, point rewards and redemptions, virtual bar hopping, as well as live-streaming events, to name a few. Its features include:

The Hangout Arena:
On the Bar-United platform, users will be able to join virtual tables of up to four people that feature video call and chat capabilities, as well as games for the group to enjoy. On top of that, users will be able to buy drinks for their friends at the table. If you are on your own or in a small group, feel free to join a table and make new friends. There is also an option to make the table private, which disables visibility of the table on the list, making it great for special occasions and celebrations.

Bar-Tails:
Collaborating with some of the Klang Valley’s most popular bars, Bar-Tails enables users to order any drinks or even bar snacks from their favourite bars to be delivered to them immediately, or to be redeemed at the outlets themselves. Currently, participating bars include Astor Bar, 61 Monarchy, Hyde 53M, Three X Co, Dissolved Solids, Circa, Saro Lounge, Happy Stan and The Iron Fairies, with more to be onboarded very soon.

Bar-Talks:
Featuring both local and international personalities from different industries, Bar-Talks enables users to tune in to special virtual guest shifts, talks and tastings on a regular basis. The first few Bar-Talks will feature Friends of Chivas such as Roen Cian Nagapan, Evelyn Marietta, and Dennis Lau, as well as bar owners such as Andrew Tan of 61 Monarchy and Hyde 53M, David Hans from Three X Co, and KC of Circa and Saro Lounge — all of whom will be sharing their personal anecdotes and experiences inspired by the Chivas belief that success is a blend.

Running low on supplies at home? Bar-United also features a Shopee store that enables users to purchase any products under Pernod Ricard Malaysia that can be purchased and delivered before your next virtual happy hour.

Bar-United Points:
Collect points through frequent purchasing and unlocking achievements to redeem vouchers that can be used for Bar-United purchases as well as at the partner bars’ actual outlets. These points can be redeemed and converted into vouchers via the Bar-United Points Redemption Kiosk seen at The Hangout Arena.

In the next phase, users can look forward to more live-streamed entertainment and interactive virtual experiences to support local talents whose live gigs have been affected by the pandemic. From DJ sets to acoustic performances, Bar-Live will enable consumers to interact and enjoy and support their favourite local talents from the comforts of their home. Those staying tuned to the performance will also have the chance to send virtual gifts to the talents purchased via the Bar-United platform.
