John Paul Sta Maria, Country Manager for HungryGoWhere Malaysia said, “We spent months meeting with our top customers to ask them what they want from an online food guide. When it comes to food reviews and guides, customers don’t have to go anywhere else for recommendations – they only need to go to HungryGoWhere. The new website is more intuitive and easier to access on all mobile devices.”

In our mission to answer the often asked question, “Hungry lar, go where?” the HungryGoWhere food guide draws on the expertise of in-house reviewers, food writers, bloggers and the man on the street. HungryGoWhere boasts a database of over 45,000 photos and 250,000 reviews and ratings covering every kind of eating establishment from mamak stalls to high-end restaurants, with halal eateries clearly labelled.

The Roti Canai eating contest during the Fiesta saw the participation of a wide variety of Malaysians from all walks of life.

HungryGoWhere’s mobile-friendly website also allows users to rate and review restaurants, share photos on the spot and get the latest news on openings and promotions. Recipes for restaurant-quality dishes from top chefs, to traditional favourites of housewives, are available to help anyone whip up a feast at home so users can ‘Eat, Discover and Share’ at the tap of a finger.

To celebrate turning one, Malaysia’s Kaki Makan recently brought 12 food trucks together in the country’s largest food truck event, “HungryGoWhere Turns One – A Food Truck Fiesta” at The Curve, with thousands of Malaysians turning up.

‘HungryGoWhere Turns One – A Food Truck Fiesta’ which was held in celebration of the online food guide’s 1st anniversary, drew a crowd of over 3000 people and 12 food trucks to the Curve.

Sta Maria added “This celebration of food-on-wheels epitomises the Kaki Makan spirit. Food trucks are growing in popularity and are not always easy to find. Therefore, we decided to place them all in one location for everyone to enjoy. This is also our way of showing appreciation to our users for their loyal support.”

HungryGoWhere also gave away a total of RM5,000 worth of meal vouchers which were redeemed at the food trucks present during the event. The massive food truck party also saw participants in eating contests walk away with freebies and vouchers, on top of all the roti canai and buffalo wings that they could eat!

From December 2 to December 4, the ‘HungryGoWhere Turns One’ food truck road show was at Pusat Bandar Damansara, Damansara Uptown 1 and Bandar Puteri Puchong respectively. Look out for the ‘makan-makan’ crew making stops around town to hand out food truck meal vouchers and other HungryGoWhere premiums.
