An up-and-coming filmmaker collaborates with Tiger Radler to bring forth Malaysia’s creative talents in a brand new #WhatsRefreshing campaign….
Calling all creative and artistic talents! A cool and refreshing new initiative summons your ingenious contribution for a short video montage. The mechanics to the project are simple: send in either a picture and/or a 15-seconds video on what you consider refreshing.
Named #WhatsRefreshing, the effort drives at bringing together the creativity of young and aspiring local talents through their video submissions. The idea for the campaign was developed by Melissa Toh, an aspiring photographer and filmmaker whose time abroad made her curious about the talents and views of her fellow Malaysians.
“I’ve lived in Australia and America, and have captured—through my lenses—the wondrous beauty those countries have to offer. The experience of living abroad has opened my eyes to seeing the world differently and I’m interested in Malaysians’ point-of-view on things,” said Toh, a RMIT University and New York Film Academy graduate.
“In order to reach out to as many people as I can, I needed to work with a brand that has established a strong fan base to help in that area. I heard of Tiger Radler and its amazing get-together spirit, which I have witnessed in their Pop-Up parties. I like the communal backyard party vibe it provides for that special, refreshing experience.”
“Malaysians need to take a step back and enjoy the simple things in life. They are constantly up and about, not taking the time to relish in new adventures and experiences. Through the #WhatsRefreshing concept, we seek to give fans a look beyond their regular day-to-day ins and outs; it’s like a holiday for the mind,” the 26-year-old said.
Tai See Wai, Marketing Manager of Tiger Beer said: “We are more than delighted to support Melissa with her experimental initiative. We at Tiger Beer always encourage upcoming local talents, and we hope more creative talents will emerge through this collaboration and #WhatsRefreshing campaign.”
Photos and/or 15-seconds videos for the #WhatsRefreshing campaign can be submitted today until November 28 at www.whatsrefreshing.com.my Entries must tell a story of what is refreshing from the participant’s point-of-view. The best photos and videos will then be selected, edited into a 2-minute video by Toh and shared on the official campaign website.
From the lot, videos from five participants will be shortlisted and they will each receive a special edition Tiger Radler T-shirt plus two tickets to the exclusive Pop-Up Party by Tiger Radler in December.
