Mamma Mia, here we go again at SOULed OUT Kuala Lumpur

As we close out an eventful 2019, what better way to ring in the new decade, The Way Old Friends Do, than to the many hits of ABBA at SOULed OUT Kuala Lumpur? The popular neighbourhood hangout will be jiving with Greek vibes this December 31st as Mamma Mia, The Party, gives a new meaning to retro, and 2020 is welcomed by the outlet’s signature New Year’s Eve firework extravaganza. Guests are encouraged to come decked in their best ABBA-inspired costumes and Dancing Queen shoes, and be serenaded by their songs all night long, courtesy of tribute band, Take 5 and DJ Alfred. An international buffet also awaits guests, featuring several Greek favourites. The party will also feature a limited drinks menu that consists of wine, champagne as well as Heineken and Tiger buckets. Tickets are available now from RM110 nett to RM130 nett and give guests access to the buffet as well as a choice of beer, wine or mojito to start off the night. For every 10 tickets purchased before December 15th, the 11th ticket is free.

Back to School at SOULed OUT Ampang

Every new year brings nostalgia for the good old days as choruses of Auld Lang Syne are heard all around town. But what if you could re-live your glory, carefree days?

That’s exactly what’s on offer at SOULed OUT Ampang’s, Back to School party this New Year’s Eve. Guests should dress in their old uniforms and will be welcomed by blasts from the past as staff in pinafores and green slacks serve up school yard favourites such as keropok and pisang goreng.

Participate in drinking games, party games and trivia as you are plied with the tastes of days gone by, but with an adult twist, in the form of the Bandung Mojito and Milo Baileys. Guests will also be able to study the science of making their own Mojito at assigned stations, enjoy the nostalgia of the visiting Milo Van, play with friends at the photobooth and cheer for the recess bell which heralds special tequila promotions.

The SO Gaya Dancers will join DJ Lucid Jun and the three-piece live band Epykes to keep party guests entertained until the new year is ushered in with a cloud of confetti and a dazzling Back to School countdown not to be missed. It’s a Jungle OUT there at SOULed OUT Bangsar South

Bringing a distinctly tropical feel to the concrete jungle, SOULed OUT Bangsar South will be celebrating the advent of 2020 with the Jungle Fever party this New Year’s Eve.

Guest will be welcomed in true SOULed OUT fashion by servers in safari khakis and animal prints as they enjoy jungle inspired drinking games and make memories at the jungle lodge inspired photobooth.

The band Prime Time featuring Rina Adza will surely keep partygoers entertained until Rina herself leads the new year countdown. There is a minimum spend of RM80 per pax and reservations are open now.

Looking to the East at SOULed OUT Kota Kinabalu

Looking East for inspiration, SOULed OUT Kota Kinabalu will be throwing the Oriental Moon Party to welcome the new year.

After being welcomed by servers in traditional style Chinese costume in an over the top Oriental setting, guests can expect to be wowed by close-up oriental inspired entertainment by the SO Gaya Dancers.

It’s dealer’s choice this New Year’s Eve and guests will be able to order à la carte from SOULed OUT Kota Kinabalu’s many Chinese fusion selections or, like any proper Chinese celebration, chose to go with a set menu, perfect for large groups and to wet whistles, an oriental cocktail will be created especially for the night.

Guest will be able to record this night to remember at the Oriental Moon photobooth as music by live band Mystic Piece continues all night long, culminating in a spectacular indoor firework display and balloon drop. There is no minimum spend and reservations are open now.

Studio 54 Retro @ WIP

WIP is transporting guests back to an era when Disco was king with its Studio 54 New Year’s Eve Party. Guests should come dressed ready to ‘bling on the funk’ for a party to end all parties that is set to bring retro back for a night to remember before we ring in 2020.

It’s bound to be a Boogie Wonderland with a double deck performance by DJ Dave Mathmos and The Choobs, while the Disco Divas promise to turn the dancefloor into a Disco Inferno.

Partygoers can strike their best Stayin’ Alive pose and make memories at the disco-themed photobooths while they indulge in a limited festive menu including the Manhattan Platter, which is a feast of sliced Margaret River wagyu steak with mushroom ragout served on charcoal baguette, tuna tartare with Asian vinaigrette, prawn gazpacho, seared scallops with caper sauce, sliced lamb with baba ganoush on charcoal baguette and salmon crostini with dill & cream cheese available for one night only.

And when the hour is finally upon us, the pop of champagne and fireworks will welcome the new year. There is a minimum spend of RM150 and reservations are open now.

A Nutcracker Christmas Eve to be enjoyed at all SOULed OUT outlets

This holiday season brings a classic Christmas favourite to life as Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker dances into the halls of all SOULed OUT outlets.

The whole family is welcome to bask in holiday cheer this Christmas Eve as drummer boys and ballerinas welcome you to a themed dining experience with nutcracker decorations and a traditional Christmas buffet complete with roast turkey with all the trimmings at SOULed OUT Kuala Lumpur in Desa Sri Hartamas. Not forgetting of course, the nutcracker-inspired desserts for the little ones and cocktails for the grownups.

 

Children will be able to sit on Santa’s lap and convey their Christmas wishes, the SO Gaya Dancers will perform their special rendition of the Nutcracker Ballet and all guests will be warmly welcomed to sing along in SOULed OUT’s traditional 12 Days of Christmas Challenge. SOULed OUT Kuala Lumpur will be opening their doors open at 7:30pm and tickets are available now at RM110 nett for adults and RM80 nett for children. All other SOULed OUT outlets are currently accepting Christmas Eve reservations now.

Leading up to the big night, those who are having a hankering for the tastes of the season are, from now until December 26, can partake in festively plated specials at all SOULed OUT outlets:

The Chicken Ballotine, a roulade packed with spinach, mushroom and walnut stuffing on a bed of green pea mash, accompanied by red wine shallots, a vegetable medley, sweet potato crisps, finished with cranberry sauce. (RM38++)

The Parmesan Crusted Lamb, a basil crumbed lamb rack on a bed of ginger pumpkin puree liberally strewn with vegetable medley, beetroot chips and pomegranate seeds with roasted garlic sauce on the side. (RM68++)

SOULed OUT’s seasonally appropriate glazed beef BBQ Shortribs Christmas special are fall off the bone tender, served with sautéed broccoli and roasted potatoes. (RM48++)

For a lighter option or as an opening act to your holiday feast, the Nicoise Salad offers a black sesame crusted seared tuna maguro, with a medley of eggs, beans, new chat potatoes, onions, olives, tomatoes and mixed leaves, served with a honey lemon dressing. (RM25++)

Seafood lovers will also surely appreciate SOULed OUTs Salmon Teriyaki, a poke bowl inspired dish with teriyaki glazed salmon, edamame, wakame, nori, pickled daikon radish and red cabbage strips on a bed of Japanese rice. (RM39++)

And for the grownups who want an early taste of SOULed OUT’s signature Christmas adult beverage, we present to you the Nutcracker, a cocktail of vodka, roasted hazelnut syrup and Frangelico, garnished with whipped cream and marshmallows to embody the sweet spirit of the season. (RM28++)

 

A White Christmas at WIP

All are welcome to WIP’s White Christmas Eve party where the sweet jazz of Bonahop and the beats of DJ Shaun Ellis Discfunktion promise to make it an elegant night to remember. Come in your best Christmas whites to match with the seasonal ambiance, make some special memories at WIP’s specially prepared dreamy photobooth and enjoy a very special Santarina dance performance.

But be sure to bring an appetite along as well, because for one night only, WIP will be offering a limited festive menu and Yuletide semi-buffet where guests will be able to choose from a selection of mains including the Grilled Striploin with Mushroom Puree, Goat Cheese Stuffed Roast Lamb Leg, Blue Leg Prawn with Orange Hollandaise and Basil Breaded Salmon with Sweet Potato Puree. Tickets are available now for RM130 nett and doors open at 7pm on December 24.

Leading up to the “most wonderful night of the year”, guests at WIP can enjoy Christmas specials available now, for a taste of what lies in store for them on Christmas Eve:

The Jingle Mingle Platter (RM139++) is perfect for group of two or three and will offer guests a seasonal family-style Christmas dining experience with roasted turkey breast and heirloom tomatoes, smoked chicken sausages, baby carrots, rosemary and mixed nuts ciabatta bread, a red wine poached pear balanced out with cheese in puff pastry.

And finally, for a sneak peek at the specially curated White Christmas themed cocktail WIP will be serving up on the big night, presenting the Snow Queen (RM25++) a holiday concoction of Tequila, Triple Sec Liqueur, Coconut Puree, milk and desiccated coconut.
