Dance Into The Magical World of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake
For the first time ever in Malaysia for their Asia Premiere, a professional full-UK ballet cast is bringing Tchaikovsky’s iconic and mesmerizing Swan Lake to glorious life in a full-length performance at the Genting International Showroom at Resorts World Genting. With six spectacular shows set to be staged from Aug 24th to 26th, and from Aug 31st to Sept 2nd, be ready to marvel at the graceful moves and pirouettes executed by the masterful dancers from Ballet West UK, as led by soloists Jonathan Barton, Natasha Wilson and Uyu Hiromoto together with ballerinas from the UK and all over Europe.
Get ready to be swept along in the Swan Lake adventure in a 150 minutes show including intermission that will leave you agape at the beauty and grace of ballet accompanied by beloved pieces of musical work. Another must attend is an exclusive Ballet West International Masterclass, conducted by Fenton—a versatile dancer from many disciplines that range from contemporary, ballet and jazz. Fenton, together with ballet mistress & professor of applied gymnastics for ballet, Sonia Fajardo will be at hand to tutor aspiring ballerinas longing to turn this art into a lifelong vocation—with helpful tips and showcase to improve your work. Priced at RM585 per masterclass, the masterclasses are available on 22nd August, 23rd August, 24th August and 30th August at the Arena of Stars, Genting.

Daniel Job, Choreographer
With a production with high stakes like Swan Lake by Ballet West, you will find only the best of the best at the helm; in this case, it is choreographer extraordinaire Daniel Job who also serves as artistic advisor and ballet master for this production. Daniel has long been associated with the world’s most prominent ballet companies and some of the greatest names in the dance world of 20th century. He won awards like Gold Medal in Choreographic Group Competition in South Korea and Composer’s Prize at Maya Plisetskaya Competition Russia. His amazing body of work can be found with George Balanchine, Dame Margot Fonteyn, American Ballet Theatre, Geneva Opera, Deutche Opera Berlin, Les Ballets de Marseille as well as the Royal Danish Ballet.
CASTS TEAM
Jonathan Barton & Natasha Watson, Lead Dancers
These two dancers hold the weight of the show on their shoulders—a responsibility they are mindful of. Jonathan Barton is a ballet master and a proud Genee medallist coach. A popular name in the UK dance scene who has put Ballet into the commercial world. His works include with Irn Bru, video game movement advisor, music videos on MTV and T-in-the-Park. His principal roles include Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Coppélia, to name but a few. With his ever-increasing reputation, and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), Jonathan also regularly coaches for the prestigious Genée International Ballet Competition and other international competitions.
Jonathan will be sharing the limelight with actress and fellow Genee medallist Natasha Watson, who is also the first British dancer to compete at the Prix de Lausanne. A star in the Ballet scene and UK film industry, Natasha has toured internationally with English National Ballet and Scottish Ballet. She is considered as one of the finest dancer of her generation; a Genée International Ballet Competition medallist and the only UK candidate chosen for the ever-prestigious Prix de Lausanne in 2015. Natasha also an accomplished choreographer with her works performed all over the UK & Europe.
Uyu Hiromoto, Dancer
Uyu Hiramoto is the recipient of the prestigious Solo Seal Award, Medallist at the South Africa International Ballet Competition and Finalists in both Genée International Ballet Competition as well as BBC Young Dancer. Uyu was trained at Kudo Ballet Japan and she has started to perform with Ballet West since 2015.
MASTERCLASS COACHES
Martin Fenton and Sonia Fajardo, Dance Coaches
Martin Fenton—a versatile dancer from many disciplines that range from contemporary, ballet and jazz. A world champion in gymnastics, also an award-winning choreographer and a widely experienced commercial dancer. Appeared in music videos for Robbie William and The Wanted, Martin has worked extensively in television, including Royal Variety Performance, The Paul O’Grady Show, the National Television Awards and a number of adverts. Martin was also part of the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games alongside Jessie J. and One Direction amongst others. He has danced in London’s West End productions of “The Showman” and “Season’s of Love”
Together with ballet mistress & professor of applied gymnastics for ballet Sonia Fajardo, she trains professionals and coaches dancers for ballet competitions across the world. She is also a Professor of Applied Gymnastics for Ballet at the University of Carabobo. She danced as a soloist with the National Guard Youth Ballet of Cuba, National Ballet of Peru and Contemporaneo Ballet of Caracas. As a choreographer, she has created more than 30 works including adaption of classics like The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.
