Fri 21 April, an exclusive whiskey tasting session event organized by Jameson, the biggest selling Irish whiskey brand in the world at Homebar21 PJ and hosted by Kieran Crowe, Jameson brand ambassador.
Kieran became a Brand Ambassador for Jameson in 2013, and after completing extensive training in the Jameson distillery in Midleton, Ireland, he was sent to work in Italy for one year, followed by 19 months in Vietnam and he now covers several countries in South East Asia, spreading the good word about the world’s number one Irish whiskey.
Kieran began by giving a bit of background information on the process of whisky making, sharing some facts on a drink in terms of the distillers, components and the process, a masterclass on the history and heritage of “uisce beatha” – Irish whiskey- bringing you step by step through the production and maturation process of the world’s best-selling Irish whiskey.
Jameson Irish Whiskey is triple distilled to deliver twice the smoothness. But there is a little more to this precise craft, it’s also about getting the perfect balance right. The balance between just the right amount of malted and un-malted barley to give a natural barley flavor. Balancing the exact proportions of triple distilled pot still and then triple distilled fine grain whiskeys to deliver exceptional smoothness. Balance the sweet, nutty flavour from sherry casks with the toasted wood and vanilla notes from Bourbon casks.
Each guest had their own tasting table with three shots of whiskey. The tasting session include a comparative tasting between the world’s leading Irish, Scottish, and American whiskeys. The purpose of this exercise was to show people that Jamesons can compete with the rest with the tagline ‘Triple distilled, twice as smooth, one great taste’.
Jameson tasted spicy and nutty. Slightly less burn, smooth and hints of the sweetness of sherry, and the woodiness of oak. The finish is smooth, full flavor and approachable on the nose and palate and a hint of spice creeps into the finish.
Jameson Original is a blend of pot still and fine grain whiskeys that is as versatile as it is smooth. Triple-distilled and aged for a minimum of 4 years, this is the timeless whiskey that turned our green bottle into an icon.
Nose: To the nose, Jameson has a light floral fragrance, peppered with spicy wood and sweet notes.
Taste: Perfect balance of spicy, nutty and vanilla notes with hints of sweet sherry and exceptional smoothness.
Event ended with a lucky draw contest by guessing items in a box were the winner win a bottle of Jameson whiskey.
At the bottom of the Jameson crest is the motto, “Sine Metu’ means It’s the family motto and translates to ‘without fear’ or ‘Fear A Bit Less, Live A Bit More.’ Jameson believe that when we fear a bit less, we live a bit more.
