Urbanscapes, the month long music and arts festival that pays homage to all things a little less mainstream, is returning this December 6 at the Horse Ranch in Resorts World Genting. Also making a comeback is its partnership with Tiger Beer to ensure your good times are accompanied by iced cold beer.

“Nothing beats having a couple of cold ones as you enjoy the amazing line-up with your good pals at a music festival. Apart from that, fans can look forward to experiencing adrenaline-charged activities at the Tiger Translate area while rocking it out at the festival,” said Tai See Wai, Marketing Manager of Tiger Beer.
So what’s in store for Tiger Beer fans at this year’s celebration? Adrenaline junkies can look forward to zorbing in a massive Tiger Translate zorb ball for an ex-hill-arting ride, while techies can fulfil their social media needs at the specially designated Wi-Fi zone.
On the music front, Urbanscapes will kick off with three satellite shows throughout November before the finale at Genting. The three satellite shows held at KL Live will begin with Scottish synthpop band Chvrches on November 19, followed by fellow Scottish post-rock band Mogwai on November 30 and finally on December 1, American comedy rock duo Tenacious D, featuring actors/musicians Jack Black and Kyle Gass will take the stage.
At Genting, festival-goers can look forward to soak in the anthemic sounds of the Los Angeles-based indie rock band Local Natives, which brought you hit singles like “Gorilla Manor” and “Heavy Feet”. Also playing that day is the legendary American college rock outfit The Lemonheads, a definite treat for fans of 90s alternative music. Remember “It’s a Shame About Ray”? Melbourne based Kimbra, who picked up Record of the Year at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards with Gotye for “Somebody That I Used to Know” is set to bring her signature electric and powerful performances to the stage. Australian duo Jagwar Ma will be bringing their juxtaposition of voice and electronics to the Urbanscapes stage.
For fans with an appetite for local and regional acts, there will be 11 performers playing that day including OJ Law and Paperplane Pursuit.
