SELANGOR, 30 April 2014 – The final battle among the titans of the pitch has been set. On May 11, Carlsberg, official beer of Barclays Premier League (BPL), is throwing an epic viewing party to commemorate the last BPL match day of the 2013/2014 season by featuring not one, but three of the top final showdowns taking place on that day.

Hundreds of Carlsberg and footie fans are expected to gather in a riot of team colours at the finale viewing party to be held at Sunway Giza, where three giant display screens will televise the three matches simultaneously and in high definition.
The first-of-its-kind viewing party will be screening some of the night’s hottest action with the main focus on the match between Liverpool and Newcastle, whilst giving fans the option to enjoy the showdown between Cardiff and Chelsea, or Manchester City against West Ham United. Depending on how events play out on the night, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City stand the chance to come out top as the season’s BPL Champion.
In addition to screening the top three match-ups of the night, the Carlsberg viewing party will be giving one true football fan an extraordinary treat in the form of an authentic, money-can’t-buy Liverpool home jersey autographed by all current players of the Liverpool Football Club. A rare giveaway that will certainly be a treasured keepsake for a die-hard fan, thanks to Carlsberg.

The festivities kick off at 8.30pm, with the matches going live at 10:00pm. Fans can expect friendly rivalry and fun games with authentic BPL merchandise up for grabs, and all served with ice-cold Carlsberg.
Henrik Juel Andersen, Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia, said, “This is arguably one of the closest title races in BPL history, and as official beer, Carlsberg is thrilled to celebrate this historic moment with Malaysian football fans, especially with an ice cold Carlsberg in hand, surrounded by mates at our viewing party. We are privileged to have the rights, access and network to one of the world’s most popular football leagues and we want our consumers to fully enjoy this experience.”
During its first season as official beer of the BPL, Carlsberg has already sent a large number of Carlsberg contest winners to enjoy a uniquely Carlsberg BPL experience in the UK. Winners and their friends were given the chance to watch their favourite clubs live in the UK with full VIP treatment at the Carlsberg Hospitality Lounge of each stadium visited. The season also saw Carlsberg giving away hundreds of BPL jerseys and other merchandise to lucky consumers.
The most recent recipient of Carlsberg’s BPL generosity was 26-year-old Jovi Chen who pledged to create a Carlsberg collage using nothing but selfies of himself with total strangers as part of Carlsberg’s Price of Passion contest. In order to complete this pledge, Chen enlisted the help of 250 unsuspecting mall-goers and won himself a uniquely Carlsberg VIP trip to the UK where he experienced the brand’s hospitality at a live BPL match between Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium.
